Talk about a busy weekend. Luckily a lot of yesterday was downtime. What’s been doing? There’s been some good times recently. I saw this dude named Pat McCurdy at a bar. He plays guitars and makes silly songs. Was pretty good times, I have to say. And then last week I saw a bluesy band named Alberta Cross at the Memorial Union downtown with a couple coworkers. Never before have I seen such a beer-centric college. It’s kind of a trip. The band was awesome, I’d definitely see them again.
I also had dinner with Ben and Erin last week at Granite City Brewery, and it was tasty and quite a bit of fun. It was good to catch up with them as I’d not really seen them since the end of September.
And then this weekend was the Wisconsin Film Festival. I had tickets to five different docs and unfortunately I only actually made it to three. I’m bummed about the two I missed. However I saw some good things. I plan to toss up reviews here shortly, but if you have a chance to see something called ‘Waking Sleeping Beauty’ please do. It’s about the rise and fall of Walt Disney’s hand-animation department in the 80s and 90s.
It looks like my mother and brother will be here in June for a little bit, which should be fun. We’ll see. And it looks like I’ll be heading back to California in early December for a concert and some home time. So that should be fun? the concert? Oh, it’s Roger Waters’ THE WALL. That’s right.
I need to get moving for work purposes. Keep on rocking in the free world.
