So I saw Alice In Wonderland in 3D, but I’m not going to say anything cause I’m hoping I’ll drop the laze and actually review it a bit later on.

I accomplished some stuff this week. I did my taxes for the first time by myself. It was pretty awesome. I’d never done them before and luckily TurboTax has made it rather idiot proof.

16 days until I get to go home for a bit. I’m pretty excited, I have to say. I think i found a good cat hotel to put Spooky in for the week I’m gone. She demands attention and she’ll get it. And I’ve tried putting her onto being fed once daily, but she just plows through her food because she has no self-control and a love of chicken and fish mixtures. It’s a curse. But she’s too cool for school, so it’ll have to be okay.

Do any of you have a rice cooker? I can’t tell you just how awesome these things are. I am loving it. Makes awesome rice and veggies to go along with dinner. I’ll even be doing it tonight. With some chicken…Which is becoming a ridiculous staple of my life. :\

I need to register my car with the state this week. :\ I don’t want to but it needs to be done. I hope it still fits my Amoeba plate frame…Cause I don’t want to part with that.

I’m going to clean the kitchen up a bit before I start in on dinner. Alice review coming later on tonight, hopefully.

Oh Snap, and the Oscars!

So a few days ago I wasn’t sure how good a movie year 2010 would be. It just didn’t seem like there would be anything ‘huge’ outside of Iron Man 2 this summer…But after remembering a couple things and seeing a couple trailers I’m prepared to say this might be the best movie year since Dark Knight. that summer a couple of years ago was a hell of a movie year. And this one stacks up…

First thing’s first, Iron man 2. You all know it’s coming and many of you will see it. I know I will.

That’s going to be a very fun movie. Bring on War Machine, I say.

But what else happens in 2010? Well, firstly, we already have Shutter Island. Have you seen Shutter Island? So damn good. I also peeped Cop Out last night. Felt like a total 80s throwback in the very best ways. And Seann William Scott deserves to be a star.

So there’s a few others things coming out this year that strike my fancy. And the three I’m here to talk about are, oddly, all remakes. Two movie remakes and one TV show remake.

First up is the TV show. Have you seen the trailer for The A-Team? It’s totally badass.

Bless you, Stephen J Cannell. This movie just looks like insane action fun. Why wouldn’t I want that? The theme song had better be in there somewhere.

Then there’s a scary movie. Tell me you aren’t waiting on pins and needles for this.

This re-imagining of Freddy Kreuger has me over the moon excited. At first it didn’t make sense to replace Robert Englund…but I get it. This is for a whole new audience. This is their Freddy and I want him to be partially mine too. It’s like having Nicholson play The Joker in Dark Knight. It wouldn’t work. And that’s two Dark Knight references in one blog. I’m on fire. And I like that Jackie Earle Haley (Rorschach from the Watchmen and Freddy in this relaunch) is striving to make Freddy his own. That voice is chilling.

“Why are you screaming? I haven’t even cut you yet.” Jesus…That movie is going to ruin me and I will love it.

And it’s not even the movie I’m looking forward to most this year. And it’s crazy, because the one I am looking forward to most there isn’t a trailer for. I haven’t seen anything more than a poster. A teaser poster at that. It could have easily been photoshopped by just about anyone on earth. But it’s for a remake of a movie I love dearly…And I cannot wait to see what modern filmmaking technology does to it… So I’m just going to leave it with the poster. Bring it ON, man.

Hey all-
Nothing too crazy… I saw Shutter Island this past weekend and LOVED it. Creepy, mindfucking, and entertaining as hell. Tops to you, Leo and Marty. Looking forward to Walter Bruce Willis in Cop Out this weekend.

I bought my plane ticket home for end of March. WRESTLEMANIA! I’m far more excited than I should be, it being so far away. I’m also looking to catch up with many, many people, friends, former coworkers, family, etc. It’ll be a good time. I’ll be there five full days, plus some extra time on either end, so it should be great.

Let me tell you what DVR’s make easy: Watching old TGIF shows. I missed you, Urkel.

The diet’s been going extremely well. I’m into my third week of it and have been sticking to it like crazy, even on weekends…Which is insane. No sweets, no ‘bad’ food, really, of any kind. The closest I got was a little trail mix that I picked up en route to a movie and some unbuttered popcorn I made the other day (Seasoned with garlic powder). I’m also eating just poultry and fish, as far as meat goes, and that’s also going really well. I’ve been almost all chicken so far and I’m nowhere close to tiring of it. The slow cooker has helped. I’ve been doing some cool things with that. I also picked up a rice cooker, which is awesome for cooking rice/steaming veggies all at the same time. And my innocent pleasure, Boca Burgers, of course. So all in all, I’m happy with that. And I’ve been missing the gym like mad, so that’s the next logical step. Working out at home just isn’t cutting it for what I like. I need to get my hands on some cardio equipment.

I need to do a full on update soon, and I promise it’ll be soon. I’m hoping to get out and about this weekend. Maybe some adventuring pictures.

It’s been a bit since I posted anything, so I figured I’d run through a few things.

Firstly, The Overture Center downtown. I know you’ll see this because the internet is magic. That fellow you have working for you, Dan, is a class act all the way and deserves a raise. He was the hero of the early morning line last Sunday.

I was able to get a ticket to Rent again, last Sunday, front row center this time. Heck of a show, once again. Truly enjoyed it. Then it was a long work week, as they tend to go. But a very welcome weekend where I, honestly, didn’t do a whole lot. I took a drive on Saturday, then watched the game on Sunday. Even won 50 bucks in an Office Pool, so thank you Saints. And Colts, for that matter.

So it’s looking like I actually get to go home for a while in March. Not quite a week, but not much less…And I really need it. Californians aren’t made for this “winter” thing you guys do… It’s awful and must be stopped. And truthfully, it’s not even that bad. It’s just so much of the same for so long. If it restarted now and then it’d be fine but I’m staring at the same snow from the beginning of December. That can’t be sanitary. I think, more than anything else, I really just miss my friends. I had a really long conversation with my neighbor on Saturday about nothing in particular and I loved it. What I wouldn’t give to be back in California tonight playing backgammon or watching a movie with certain folks. So yeah, really looking forward to going home, if only for a few days.

That’s all tonight, just a short one…

Oh, and last update I mentioned a new site I’m working on. Well the domain has been purchased, the bare bones are set up… Just need to start working on content for it. As soon as I have something, I’ll pass it along.

I’m working on a new website idea that I would love feedback on. It’ll look sort of like a blog but it’s hopefully going to be a collection of photos. What prepared foods look like vs. how they are shown on the package. I’m sure this has been done before, and I’ve likely even seen it but it struck me as a fun thing to do when I made a frozen meal a couple of weeks ago and what was in the box looked like what was on the box had been put in a bag, beaten with a bat, and dragged through the mud. Any thoughts?
